Dr Vladimir Jankovic

The principal objectives of my past and current research have been about the scope, scale and social conditions of the scientific and social engagement with weather and climate. I am particularly interested in the socio-cultural forces behind the notion of atmospheric environment as a normative framing of climate as a resource and agency, with focus on climate as a space of mundane social identity and economic action. The shift from theorized towards lived climates has led me toward examining the problem of scale in the scientific and public understanding of the weather.

Dr Stephen Hincks

Stephen's research covers two broad themes. The first theme focuses on conceptualising, measuring and analysing the dynamics of spatial development. This area of research involves developing and applying different analytical frameworks and methodologies to understand complex spatial structures and processes.  This has included research on housing and labour market interaction; changing housing and neighbourhood interactions; the measurement of spatial planning outcomes; neighbourhood change; migration in Europe; and spatial housing market analysis.

Prof Simon Guy

- Member of the University's Sustainability Steering Group

My research aims to critically understanding the co-evolution of design and development strategies and socio-economic processes shaping cities. This approach has involved the development and application of an innovative sociotechnical approach to researching architecture, urban development, technological innovation and urban change analysis and integration of previously disconnected research fields - architecture and urban planning, the property sector and utilities industry.

Dr Sarah Lindley

I am a quantitative geographer specialising in the use of geospatial analysis to understand the outcomes of human-environment interactions. My main research interests are associated with urban air pollution and climate adaptation. Much of my research activity is motivated by the need to develop sustainable responses to current and future environmental challenges. I therefore often work in multi-disciplinary teams and in collaboration with stakeholders.
