Dr Joseph Mutale

Dr Mutale obtained the BEng degree in Electrical Machines and Power Systems from the University of Zambia. His MSc in Electric Power Transmission and Distribution and PhD in Power System Economics, were obtained from the University of Manchester in 1987 and 2000 respectively. Prior to joining the University of Manchester in 2002 Dr Mutale spent over 15 years in the electric utility industry. His industrial experience includes a wide range of technical posts at ZESCO, the Zambian National Utility, including Director of Engineering Development and Transmission Manager.

Mr Julian Skyrme

Julian Skyrme is Director of Social Responsibility at The University of Manchester. Social responsibility is one of the University's three core strategic goals and aims to ensure Manchester's learning, research, engagement and operational activities make a positive difference to society. Julian has also provided leadership to the University's broad range of widening participation and student progression activities, including fair access and admissions, school liaison and bursary and scholarship provision.
