Dr Cinzia Casiraghi

Our group investigate the electronic, vibrational and optical properties of two- and one-dimensional materials such as graphene, and carbon nanotubes. The aim of our research is to exploit the huge innovation potential of these new materials in electronics, photonics, sensors and bioengineering. The main technique used to investigate the properties of these materials is Raman Spectroscopy, but we also have acces to state-of-the-art facilities including clean rooms, electron microscopy and chemical labs.

Person

Prof Ian Kinloch

My research focuses on polymeric and carbon (graphene and nanotubes  and related nanomaterials. The research takes the science from the controlled growth of the nanomaterials through to their processing and applications. My research on applications is on polymer-nanocarbon composites, electrodes and the bio-nano interface.
