Dr Jana Wendler

Jana works as a Research Associate for the Univerisity Living Lab. She has completed her PhD on alternative urban experiments, looking at innovation and learning at the grassroots. She is also a game designer, and seeks to connect playful approaches to sustainability thinking and learning.

Dr Andrew Karvonen

University Living Lab Co-Principle Investigator with James Evans

I am a Lecturer in Architecture and Urbanism in the School of Environment, Education and Development at the University of Manchester.

My research bridges the design disciplines and the social sciences with a particular focus on urban sustainability. I also have a decade of experience as an environmental and sustainability consultant and am a licensed engineer in the State of Washington.

Ms Gabriele Schliwa

Gabriele Schliwa is a Research Associate at SEED and currently manages the Manchester Cycling Lab project.

Gabriele's research focuses on low-carbon living labs and sustainable transport transitions. With a background in business and environmental management, she seeks to strengthen collaboration between citizens, local businesses and the public sector to successfully tackle social, environmental and economic challenges through innovative urban solutions.
